Tralee No. 2 Quarry Project
ARDG’s Tralee No. 2 Quarry Project is located on the rural property ‘Tralee’ at Sapphire, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Inverell, in the NSW Northern Tablelands.
ARDG in partnership with the owners of ‘Tralee’ are proposing to develop a quarry on the property to support the construction of the adjacent Sapphire Solar Project (SSP). The SSP is being developed by CWP Renewables and will be constructed by Zenviron Pty Ltd.
The geology of the quarry site is dominated by variably altered and weathered rhyolite, that forms part of the Permian-age (272.3 Ma to 252.17 Ma) Emmaville Volcanics.
The quarry development application was approved by Inverell Shire Council (DA-151/2018) on 5 February 2019 for extraction and processing of up to 30,000 m3 of material per annum.
Development of the quarry is expected to commence during late 2020 with the material used for construction of the SSP.
